Real Cornish Pasty recipe

Makes 2 pasties.

Prep time – 20 mins

Cook time – 55 mins

Ingredients.

Pastry

200g plain flour

100g suet

1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

pinch salt

water

rub the flour and suet until it becomes a crumbly texture, mix the salt and baking powder. Gradually mix in the water until you get a firm dough. Cover with cling film and leave in the fridge for at least half an hour.

 

Filling

200g beef skirt diced

1 large potato peeled and chipped

1 onion chopped small

half a swede peeled and chipped

salt and pepper to taste

 

Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Line a baking tray with grease proof paper. Glaze the pasties with milk and bake in the oven for 55 minutes.
